Proposed Recipient: Congressional Hunger Center
400 North Capitol Street, NW Suite G100, Washington, DC 20001

Amount Requested: $4 million

Explanation of project, including purpose and why this is a valuable use of taxpayer funds:
The funding would be used to provide one-year and two-year fellowships to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents so that they will become anti-hunger leaders. The fellows will implement program and policy solutions to domestic and international hunger. This is a valuable use of taxpayer funds because hunger and poor nutrition cost the federal government billions of dollars in health care, foreign aid and education expenditures.
