Obtaining a Passport

Before visiting a foreign country, you should ensure that all your travel concerns are addressed. Here are a few of the most common questions Pete's office receives that deal with passports:

How can I get a passport?
To apply for a new passport, renew an expired passport, or obtain additional passport pages, visit your local Passport Agent. Please click here to find one nearest you. Passport agents are usually located at your local post office, and in select federal buildings and circuit courts.

How can I renew my existing passport?
If you already have a passport that is not damaged, was issued in the past 15 years, was received after your 16th birthday, and has your same name, you can apply for a passport renewal by mail. Please click here for additional information.

I cannot wait for the normal six week processing time of my application. Can I request expedited processing?
Yes. For an additional fee, you can request expedited processing, which normally takes two weeks. Click here for more information.

*For additional information regarding passports, please visit the State Department's website.

Also, if you would like Pete's help with a Passport issue, please print out an Authorization Form and fax or mail it to the Merrillville office.
