AIDS is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. It is literally killing millions of people and crippling economies.

I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to safe and affordable housing.

I am working with my colleagues to create an immigration policy that is fair, preserves family unity, protects our communities, and recognizes the contribution that immigrants have made and continue to make to our society.

LGBT

I am a founding member of the new Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus co-chaired by Chairwoman Tammy Baldwin and Chairmen Barney Frank, Jared Polis, and David Cicilline. I am proud to stand with 96 bi-partisan members to continue the work of ensuring that every American is treated equally under the law no matter their race, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Poverty

It is unacceptable that in the richest nation in the world, there are nearly 47 million people living in poverty.

Seniors

I am committed to safeguarding programs important to our seniors such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
