Chaffetz Responds to Presidential Task Force Announcement

Dec 19, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jason Chaffetz released the following statement in response to President Obama’s announcement of a gun-violence task force:

“As a father of three, tragedies like the Connecticut mass shooting hit close to home. If there were a single solution to prevent this from ever happening again I would support it. Unfortunately, there isn’t. Millions of Americans deal with guns properly and responsibly. I believe the common ground we should address is the intersection between lethal weapons and mental health. I look forward to President Obama’s proposal going forward and hope we can find common ground solutions. At the end of the day, we must also look to families, communities, and churches to ultimately solve this problem.”
