Schock Delivers Keynote Address at Discover Manufacturing Career Fair
Congressman Aaron Schock on Wednesday, October 24, encouraged more than 1,000 high school students from central Illinois to consider jobs and careers in manufacturing. Schock was a key speaker at the Discover Manufacturing Career Fair held at the Peoria Civic Center. There are 160 manufacturing establishments in Peoria County and 114 in Tazewell County. The state of Illinois is one of the nation’s leaders in manufacturing. Click here to learn more.

Schock Encourages Charitable Participation
U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock on Tuesday encouraged charitable participation to benefit communities among some 80 agencies and their employees in a 15-county area in the Combined Federal Campaign. Click here to learn more.

Schock Attends Grand Opening Ceremony for Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitors Center

Schock Attends Pekin Chamber of Commerce Groundbreaking Ceremony
Congressman Aaron Schock was in Pekin, IL., on the morning of October 17 to participate in the Pekin Chamber of Commerce groundbreaking ceremony for the section of Veteran’s drive between Broadway and Sheridan. Click here to learn more.

Schock encourages students to become lifelong learners

The path to a lifelong learner begins at a young age. On Sunday, October 14, Congressman Schock shared that message again  as he continues to encourage students to become lifelong learners with his Summer Reading Program. Participating students in kindergarten through eighth grades read more than 4,500 books combined. There were 80 participating schools and nine libraries throughout the 18th Congressional District. Schock Host Montford Point Marine Medal Ceremony
Aaron was in Jacksonville on Saturday, October 13th, to host the medal ceremony for Montford Point Marine Richard Johnson.In June 2012, approximately 300 Montford Point Marines attended a ceremony in Washington where they were collectively awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. However,  Johnson was unable to attend the ceremony in June. After learning that Johnson was unable to attend the Washington ceremony, Congressman Schock arranged a ceremony to take place to present Johnson with his own medal. Click here to learn more.

Schock Attends Wagonsellar Road Improvement Project Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Congressman Aaron Schock was in Pekin, on October 3rd, 2012 to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Wagonsellar Road Improvement Project. Last week, Aaron announced that Tazewell County and the Cincinnati Township were the recipients of an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant in the amount of $503,947.00 for critical roadway improvements. Schock Attends 182nd Airlift Wing Operations Facility Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The new facility will house the 182nd Operations Group. The 27,700-square-foot facility will house C-130 operations including weapons and tactics, intelligence operations; briefing space; flight planning, safety, and records areas, physical training, life support and survival equipment including space to repair parachutes, life rafts, and other emergency gear. Schock Presents Congressional Award to Aditi Warhekar
Congressman Aaron Schock presented the Congressional Award to Aditi Warhekar. The Congressional Award is a public private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service.  Among other accomplishments, Aditi completed more than 200 hours of Voluntary Public Services through the Peoria Park District and local hospitals. Schock Participates in Goodwill Inc. Repurposing Facility Press Conference in Peoria
Congressman Aaron Schock participated in the Goodwill Repurposing Facility press conference in Peoria today, August 8th, 2012. Goodwill will use the updated facility to expand services for all of its programs, with added emphasis on expanding services for veterans and youth. The building will also continue to serve as Goodwill’s administrative headquarters. Click here to learn more. 

Schock Visits CCK Automations in Jacksonville
Jacksonville’s CCK Automations Inc. faces similar challenges as many other small businesses and manufacturers around the nation: an uncertain future regarding taxes and health reform. But despite those uncertainties, CCK Automations continues to grow and expand. U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock toured the facility on Aug. 6 with Operations Manager JJ Richardson and Chief Financial Officer Sherri Richardson. Click here to learn more. 

Schock Visits Bartlett Grain Company
A Kansas City-based grain company is constructing a $25 million grain transfer facility in South Jacksonville that initially will create 20 jobs. U.S. Rep. Schock Hosts District 18 Agriculture Summit
Today, August 7th, 2012, Congressman Schock hosted his 18th District Agricultural Summit in Lincoln, IL. Schock was joined by Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, Congressman Frank Lucas of Oklahoma and several hundred constituents with ties to the agricultural community in his district. Agriculture is the #1 employer in the 18th district. Click here to learn more

Schock Attends Scott-Morgan-Greene Water Cooperative Dedication Ceremony
Aaron was in Jacksonville on Monday, August 6th, 2012 to attend the Scott-Morgan-Greene Water Cooperative Dedication Ceremony. SMG Water Cooperative is completing its Phase V Water Systems Improvement Project, which is its 8th overall project and the first to include a water booster pump station and elevated water storage tank. The project added 50 miles of water main and added 155 customers. This project was funded by the USDA Rural Development program. Click here to learn more. 

Schock to Address 94th Annual American Legion State Convention
Schock was a key speaker at the 94th annual American Legion State Convention at the Prairie Capital Convention Center Plaza on July 13. The American Legion, chartered by Congress in 1919, currently has more than 100,000 members in Illinois in more than 800 posts. The state convention is designed to help boost awareness of the organization and activities that it sponsors.

Schock Attends Naturalization Ceremony
88 individuals hailing from 35 countries officially became citizens of the United States. Becoming an American citizen, Schock says, comes with responsibility. “We‘re a country of giving. We’re a country that looks out for one another. It’s incumbent upon each one of you to take up that mantle, as I know you will, to live by the golden rule. To do for others as you would have them do for you. To treat your neighbors and fellow Americans as you would have them treat you.”
