KiewitPhelps gets contract for new StratCom HQ PDF Print

Omaha-based KiewitPhelps will build the new U.S. Strategic Command headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base near Bellevue.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $120 million first-phase construction contract to the company Thursday.

Completion of the project, estimated at $524.4 million, not counting hundreds of millions of dollars of technology, is expected Sept. 11, 2016.

The Air Force has estimated that the new headquarters could provide more than 400 construction jobs and an additional 100 support jobs during the building process.
