The district includes several shore towns that offer some of the best beaches on the Jersey Shore.  The city of Asbury Park features a revitalized Boardwalk that offers visitors endless fun, and the city plays host to annual special events including the Garden State Film Festival, Taste of Asbury Park and Oysterfest.

The borough of Belmar draws families, fishermen and world-class surfers to its pristine shores.  And, with one of the largest marinas in New Jersey, the Belmar Marina is a launch point for deep-sea fishing ventures into the Atlantic.

In addition to its legendary beaches and shoreline, the Sixth Congressional District of New Jersey offers extensive arts and music enjoyment opportunities.  No trip to Asbury Park is complete without taking in a show at the legendary Stone Pony, where Jersey legend Bruce Springsteen has made numerous appearances.  Also in Asbury Park, the Convention Hall and the adjacent Paramount Theatre are some of the most majestic landmarks on the Jersey Shore.  Over the years, this historic entertainment venue has hosted legendary performances by Elton John, Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones, among many others.

New Brunswick, the home of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, plays host to Central Jersey’s “theatre row,” which features the State Theater, the George Street Playhouse and the Tony Award-winning Crossroads Theatre Company, one of the nation’s premiere African American theater companies.

The borough of Red Bank is filled with a vibrant arts scene.  On the Navesink River and just five miles from the Atlantic Ocean, Red Bank features The Count Basie Theater, which presents live music acts and the Two River Theater Company, the spot for new and original plays.
