Committees
As a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee, Congressman Pallone deals with many issues of great importance to the people of New Jersey, including health care, energy, the environment and fisheries.
On the Energy and Commerce Committee, Congressman Pallone serves as Ranking Member of the Health Subcommittee. The subcommittee has sole jurisdiction over Medicaid, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and shares jurisdiction of Medicare with the Ways and Means Committee. It oversees public health, biomedical programs, food and drug safety, mental health and research, hospital construction and all health care homeland security-related concerns.
He is also a member of the Environment and the Economy Subcommittee, and Communications and Technology Subcommittee.
Congressman Pallone is a member of the Natural Resources Committee and serves on the Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs Subcommittee.

Leadership
Congressman Pallone serves as Communications Chair of the Democratic Policy Committee and is responsible for developing the party's message on the issues before Congress and coordinating that message on the House floor.
In addition, Congressman Pallone serves as co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues and the Congressional Coastal Caucus. He is also the co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans and Congressional Caucu on Sri Lanka.
