YUBA CITY, CA – Congressman John Garamendi, his wife Patti, and Garamendi’s entire district staff greeted more than 150 3rd Congressional District residents at the open house for Congressman Garamendi’s Yuba City District Office. They welcomed a cross section of residents from Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, and Yuba counties, including military personnel, veterans’ advocates, small business leaders, farmers, and faith leaders.

“Today we opened our Yuba City office to the public for the first time. That door will remain open as long as I’m blessed to represent the great people of the 3rd Congressional District,” said Congressman John Garamendi. “In this room are people who keep us safe from terrorists, people who feed the world, and people who create jobs and opportunity for their neighbors. I will do all I can to ably represent you in Congress. You deserve a committed advocate in Washington, and that’s exactly what I’ll be.”

In addition to the open house, Congressman Garamendi’s District Director Karen Tedford and other caseworkers with the office today are fielding casework for area residents having issues with a federal agency.

“Congressman Garamendi and I want 3rd District residents to know that our office has a dedicated constituent casework team ready to help if issues arise with a federal agency,” District Director Tedford said. “We’ve helped recoup lost Social Security benefits, saved homes facing foreclosure, and expedited treatments at the VA. Our office can be an expressway to resolutions with federal agencies, and we encourage anyone facing a problem to call us at 707-438-1822 to see what can be done.”

Other staff took advantage of the day to arrange a series of meetings with local agriculturalists to develop a better understanding of area needs.
