Environment
Garamendi, President Bill Clinton's Deputy Interior Secretary, is an outdoorsman who has lived most of his life in rural California and supports preserving the natural beauty of Calfiornia and America.
Protecting the natural beauty of California and our region is a priority of mine. I live on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, the largest estuary on the West Coast, and I am passionately in favor of preserving our natural heritage for fish and fowl, people and the planet. I am a conservationist and outdoorsman who supports preserving public lands, and I work closely with hunters and fishermen. I believe clean air and clean water help create healthy communities. I am a consistent advocate for clean energy production and efficiency projects, because I understand that environmental stewardship and long term economic growth go hand-in-hand.
