About The Inaugural Ceremony
For more than two hundred years America’s citizens have witnessed the Inauguration ceremonies of the President and Vice President of the United States. From the first Inauguration of George Washington, in New York City, in 1789, to today, as we prepare for the 57th quadrennial Presidential Inauguration, the swearing-in ceremonies represents both national renewal and continuity of leadership. As each president has offered a vision for America’s future, we reflect on the heritage of Inaugurations past.
To Participate in the Inauguration Day Events
Requests to participate in Inauguration Day events for marching bands, equestrians, military groups and floats are collected by the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region. The Presidential Inaugural Committee, formed after the November election, selects the participants from these requests. To Request Tickets
My official Congressional office will receive a limited number of tickets to distribute to constituents of the 2nd congressional district for the Inaugural swearing-in ceremonies. Tickets are free of charge and, as you might imagine, demand for tickets is very high therefore not all requests can be accommodated.

Areas Not Requiring Tickets
Viewing the Swearing-In Ceremonies from the National Mall does not require tickets. The non-ticketed area of the National Mall begins at Fourth Street NW.
