Expedition 34 is under way as Commander Kevin Ford and Flight Engineers Oleg Novitiskiy and Evgeny Tarelkin continue their stay until March 2013. The station's newest trio began their mission when they docked their Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft to the Poisk module on Oct. 25.

Flight Engineers Tom Marshburn, Chris Hadfield and Roman Romanenko will launch Dec. 19 aboard the Soyuz TMA-07M spacecraft and dock to the station two days later to round out the six-person Expedition 34 crew. Hadfield will become the first Canadian to command the station when Ford, Novitskiy and Tarelkin complete their mission.
