We need a comprehensive approach to getting our economy back on track and creating jobs. What we need most in order to fix our economy is not another failed “Washington Solution” but an environment that allows businesses to expand and create jobs so that the millions of Americans lacking work can find a good job. I believe in many ways that too many in Washington have pursued a path and erected barriers that hinder job-creation and economic recovery.

• Stopping Over-Regulation - American businesses cannot prosper and create jobs under the mountain of new regulations coming from the Administration. Over 4,000 regulations are under development right now.

• Putting the Brakes on Overspending - I’ve been fighting stop Washington’s out of control spending that raises the cost of doing business, threatens higher taxes, and undermines our country’s future prosperity.

• Creating an Environment Where Businesses Can Create Jobs - Similar to over-regulation, the threat of higher taxes hangs over America’s job-creators and entrepreneurs, making it less likely that they will be able or willing to invest in new businesses and innovations that generate new jobs. Let’s not forget that it’s small businesses, not government, that serve as the engine that drives America’s economy, creating up to 70% of new jobs.

• Lowering Taxes for American Families and Individuals - Leaving money in the pockets of individuals and local businesses is a much better approach to spurring economic growth and job creation than sending it to Washington in the hopes that some government bureaucracy will do a better job of spending your money. I have cosponsored legislation that lowers taxes on individuals, families and American businesses.
