Towner French
Chief of Staff

Towner French is a graduate of Duke University (2000) with a B.A. in Political Science. Originally from Germantown, Maryland, Towner began his service on Capitol Hill with Congresswoman Judy Biggert of Illinois. He spent over 8 years with Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart of Florida where he worked as a Rules Committee Associate, Legislative Director, and finally, Chief of Staff. Towner came to Congressman Sessions’ office from the House Committee on Homeland Security where he served as Chief Parliamentarian. He currently manages the Rules Committee work and Health Policy as the Deputy Chief of Staff.

Leigh Young
Executive Assistant

Leigh Young was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After attending the University of Texas in Austin, she came to DC as an intern for Congressman Sessions in the fall of 2004. She went on to work for another Dallas-area Member of Congress, Congressman Jeb Hensarling, in January of 2005 for a year and half. Leigh briefly left the Hill to work for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America on their federal PAC. Having realized that Capitol Hill is too great to leave for long, Leigh rejoined Team Sessions in July 2007 as his Scheduler.

Torrie Miller
Communications Director

Torrie Miller is a native of Montgomery, Alabama and graduated from Southern Methodist University in May 2009 with a double major in Political Science and Corporate Communications & Public Affairs. While at SMU, she interned on Congressman Sessions’ 2006 and 2008 campaigns. Torrie began in Congressman Sessions' DC office as a Program Coordinator for the 2009 Pete Sessions Leadership and Growth Program, and she was hired on as a Legislative Correspondent at the close of the program in July 2009. She currently handles all Press and Communications for the Congressman.

Robert Cousins
Legislative Director

Robert Cousins is a native of Dallas, Texas. After graduating from the Episcopal School of Dallas in 2004, Robert attended Vanderbilt University, graduating in 2008. Robert began in Congressman Sessions' office in May of 2008 and has served as a Legislative Correspondent and most recently as Confidential Assistant to the Congressman. As a Legislative Assistant, Robert advises the Congressman on Budget, Tax, Banking, Transportation and Energy issues.

Preston Kerr
Senior Legislative Assistant

Preston Kerr was born and raised in Dallas, TX.  Upon graduation from Highland Park High School in 2005, Preston attended Furman University, earning a B.A. in Political Science.  He began his career on Capitol Hill as an intern for Senator Jim DeMint (SC) before serving for nearly 3 years as an aide to Texas Senator John Cornyn both in his personal office and at the National Republican Senatorial Committee.  Preston has been with Congressman Sessions since February 2012 and advises him on telecommunications, budget, defense, education, judiciary, and trade issues. 

Erin Mellinger
Legislative Correspondent

Erin Mellinger is originally from Dallas, Texas. In 2011, she graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in History and Communication Studies. After spending the past two summers in Washington, D.C. working with the Pete Sessions Leadership Growth Program, Erin moved up to Washington after graduation in May to become a full-time member of Congressman Session's staff. As a Legislative Correspondent, Erin assists the Congressman's Legislative Team with issues such as Defense, Education, Gun Control, and Housing.

Kevin Hubbard
Legislative Correspondent

Kevin Hubbard is originally from Queens, New York. In 2011, he graduated from Davidson College where he served as Student Body President and earned a B.A. in Political Science. After graduation, Kevin interned in Congressman Sessions’ DC office before joining his legislative staff full-time. As a Legislative Correspondent, Kevin assists the Congressman’s Legislative Team with issues such as Defense, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Trade.

Sydney Stone
Staff Assistant

Sydney Stone is originally from Dallas, TX. She recently graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2012 with a B.A. in Political Science. After spending the past three summers in Washington, D.C. interning and coordinating the Pete Sessions Leadership and Growth Program, she became a full time Staff Assistant for Congressman Sessions in August 2012.
