This week President Obama signed the Sequestration Transparency Act and by September 6th he will be required to provide taxpayers and Congress with his plan for the defense cuts he insisted be part of the sequestration scheduled to begin on January 2, 2013. The President's own defense secretary has said these cuts would hollow out our Armed Forces. In the Weekly Republican Address, U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) says, "severe and indiscriminate cuts that harm our security are not the way to address America's fiscal challenges." He says, "unless the current law is changed, sequestration will force another half a trillion in cuts to defense programs over the next 10 years," with almost 1 million jobs at risk.

Who is this clown? This guy has no coherent point & no new ideas. And no charisma at that.

They will have an 18% INCREASE in the military budget instead of the 20% they wanted. It takes a really lack of shame for pandering to the military industrial complex like this guy is doing. When even people like Grover Norquist and Dick Armey are already sounding the alarm to a bloated military budget, this guy still wants to keep his contractors happy. This has nothing to do with defense, terrorism in not combated with aircraft carriers and billion dollar defense systems but w/ intelligence.

As a resident of Mississippi, I am proud to see Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) give the weekly GOP address this week on the "crippling defense cuts."

If congress is the only one that can now act in working with a budget, since its not the president that can do it, work WITH members of congress. Tea party, independant, or democrat should be talked with and not send just a letter with demands
