WASHINGTON, DC -- Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) appeared Tuesday on Fox Business to talk about the Administration's attempted side-step of rules regarding federal contract layoff notices ahead of devastating defense cuts mandated by sequestration.

In part, Wicker said: "It is 11,000 jobs lost in my state of Mississippi. We build a lot of ships and we build a lot aircraft in Mississippi. It is a million jobs nationwide. Sequestration is a disaster, and with leadership and effective government, it could have been avoided. That not having happened, now the Administration has come in and is playing blatant politics.
