Alternative "medicine" has nothing to do with medicine. Going to jail for selling distilled water to dying cancer patients has nothing to do with drug lobbies and everything to do with prosecuting frauds.

The thing about alt med is one of those times when I'm not sure I agree with Bill Maher. I see where he's coming from, but there are also a lot of scams out there. I don't know. I think the line is not always easy to see.

he didn't mean christian name in a religious sense, he just meant "christian" name as in her given name. the joke is that, regardless of her being an atheist, if she doesn't know what the internet is, then her real name is tantan75. he was making fun of the fact that all the commentators were like oh she doesn't have a computer? when she clearly is communicating via the internet lol.

I'm not going to contact you further after this comment. Western medicine has made HUGE strides in cancer research, Bill Maher knows this. He's saying things like holistic medicine don't work. Sure we could be further in curing cancer if there was more money. He's saying western medicine only treats the symptoms yes but alternative medicine doesn't even do that. You clearly need to grasp the language a little better Lesha Ann. Good luck to you

Just to clear it up for YOU, Bill Maher IS saying that the field of "Western" Medicine hasn't made adequate progress in curing cancer, and that is why some people have to leave the country to seek alternatives. He said nothing about alternative medicine being a hoax. Love how your own fervently held opinion has completely prevented you from hearing what is being said. You don't have to agree, but you don't get to completely change the meaning of what was said!

Just to clear it up for everyone. Bill isn't saying that the field of medicine has made no progress in curing cancer, He's saying the hoax that is alternative medicine has made no progress in curing cancer. Pretty simple to understand
