WASHINGTON, DC -- The United States House of Representatives Republican Steering Committee today (12/31) announced that Congressman Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) will chair the Financial Services Appropriations Subcommittee in the 113th Congress.

Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) announced the Steering Committee’s approval of Crenshaw’s new position and the 11 other Appropriations Subcommittee Chairs on Monday, December 31.

Crenshaw, who chaired the Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee in the 112th Congress, issued the following statement:

“Families and business across America make difficult financial decisions each and every day and expect Congress to do the same. In the 113th Congress, House members will debate and vote on fiscal matters and defense issues that determine the way forward for our nation and its military forces for generations to come.

“As I work with Chairman Rogers and my colleagues to create a brighter economic future and strong defense, my goal is to build a solid fiscal foundation for our government where it lives within its means without sacrifice to our military forces and their national security mission. Our work includes, but is not limited to, cutting wasteful government spending, reforming entitlements, and instituting pro-growth tax reform, which broaden the base, lowers rates, raises revenues, and reduces the deficit.”
