In this invitational presentation to the San Francisco Tesla Society consulting engineer Rob States explains how PG&E's so-called 'smart' meters work and why they endanger health and privacy. He asks the obvious question, "Why would you trust the company that brought you Prop. 16?"

Why lie about the truth..smart meters are for illegal wireless surveillance ..wake up and look it up fools..

They emit microwave radiation as well (from the wireless transmitter). They aren't the most economically sound devices.. Ours is outside the garage, and we've got a ton of stuff in there, so there's not much chance it penetrates us. Still, it's pretty reckless of the energy companies to issue these things.

Some of the components have been found to have depleted uranium. I purchased a protective case which was placed over mine just in case. Since doing so, a man has been forced to come read the meter manually.

The smart meter transmits at a power level in the ballpark level as a cellphone and uses a transmit frequency also in the same range as a cellphone. Thus nut cases who worry about smartmeters should really crush their cellphones. They use their cellphones every day and many times they are close to ones head. This guy in thus youtube video is bung dung science; he is retarded and a disgrace promoting falsehoods. He is not a real engineer, more like a total fraud.

truth of the science is not being truthfully told. Radio telepathy is a wonderful emerging science. Takes small to large radio systems, can be deployed in all kinds of ways. With computers it is a way to use radio as never before. The microwave systems smart meters use are at once very primitive and very advanced. Radio physics and a good dose of juice can do all kinds of things. Ask the military. The engineers and ph'ds in here are wonderful! do we have some rand or darpa alumni with us?

it's the government and quasi government utility companies and their contractors, which are huge and back one another. How do you suggest we go about suing those entities? I suggest pure science and just do it in a public manner...the G & the Big C will stop you in court and shutter the truth before you get started suing them, best to have rock solid evidence through science and publically display it THEN use it court.

depends on the type of meter you've got...even old analogs would show you using big juice.....some smart meters would show no diff.....depends on the computer in the meter

Been entered into studies about how that would work....it's fantastic science....going to school for it......easy, quick, dirty, near-quantum radio networks.....fantastic

they only use 1 watt....how do think a tower 18 miles away picks that up? that's how mine works......yours is diff...those kind of inner-neighborhood radio systems are more of the beast then mine, you've got how many signals there bouncing around, being collected and bounced around some more, all on open radio frequencies, talka bout a security hack fest......wonderful science behind microwave radios....too bad the deployment of it has such dark problems.....

if the filters on the power interface for the radio are of poor design or quality, and that depends on many things, you will have all kinds of very low wattage "electronic harmonics" phenomenon experienced in a wired "box" like a house or building. Try this experiment, remove the smart meter, turn on the radio system, it should not take much juice, put it on a dummy circuit, say a large box with some outlets wired as a house. make sure you've got your circuit fused relative....
