My wife is Texan and I am Canadian. We live in Canada only because of the Canadian Health care system vs the US system. Noone goes bankrupt because of their health care costs, long wait times for serious illnesses is a myth, Life expectancy is longer. Quality of service is better, etc. In general everyone loves their health care system in Canada. As with everything in life there are problems but healthcare problems in the top nations is minor compared to the mess in the US.

"Government prints the money." No, the Federal Reserve is actually a private syndicate. The govt. gives it monopoly privileges. It's actually a state-sanctioned cartel. It's better to look at it as a partnership.

Before the Fed. Res. there were competing bank notes, commodity money, scrip, etc. There were problems with that system due to govt. interventions, especially in banking. For instance, banks were forced to buy govt. debt and use it as reserves, or they weren't allowed to branch bank.

"Outlobbied small business owners." Yes, that is exactly what happened. And they weren't just "small business owners." Many of them were just smallER. Some were of good size. Collectively they were able to get that legislation passed.

Think about what you are saying. You think large business hates Anti-Turst legislation, right? You are also saying that those large firms always get what they want, right? Then how the hell did that legislation get passed? Your position is a contradiction.

Go look up what happened during the War Socialism years of the Wilson Administration. It was a command-and-control economy. There were state-run cartels/syndicates. Property was nominally private, but it was government directed. Firms had pre-set profits and profit margins. See War Industries Board during that era.

The progressives set that up. They were voted out, but they got back in when FDR came in. They promptly set back up this system. They wanted to centrally plan everything.

"Where did I get FDR admired fascism?" I've done a lot of reading.

When you hear fascism, you think of war, anti-semitism, extreme nationalism, but that's not what I am referring to. I am speaking of the Italian brand of fascism, especially what constitutes economic fascism.

You are unaware that Mussolini was a very popular figure in the U.S. during the teens and 20's. In fact, during the early 20's he was voted most admired leader by Americans in a poll.

No it wouldn't because their would be so much fraud and endless white collar crime going on it would be completely out of control. The government prints the money. Who else would manage it?

Your dealing with somebody who is delusional. He actually tried to tell me a bunch of small business owners out lobbied Rockefeller and Carnegie. That's all he does is watch Hannity and listen to Limbaugh. I threw some actual facts at him and got bombarded with 18 angry e-mails via you tube. I had to spam him. I work with Europeans all the time " The company I design for is based in France with satellites in England." and believe me when I say they laugh at us. It's actually embarrassing.

    "Don't know what socialism is?"

What TYPE of socialism? Are you referring to communism? Are you referring to democratic socialism?

In a democratic socialist system the states doesn't nationalize everything. Some things are directly controlled, but others are indirectly controlled with mandates, subsidies, public-private partnerships, favors, regulations to create barriers to entry, monetary policy, etc. In that way the state ACTS as if it controls the means of production.
