that's because true freedom and free market advocates like ron paul and gary johnson are labelled as quacks and dismissed just as quickly, while big government keynesians like obama (and by extension ben bernanke) retain all their power from the idiot masses

In that case then why was there not enough food to go around in these so called "equal" societies like the USSR?

This concept of individual freedom has eroded so much that it is almost frightening. Yet these people continue to advocate more government and more power to the State as a solution when it is the very problem. The whole system is robbing Peter to pay Paul. It is one giant thief carnival where everyone gets taken for a ride while our futures are indebted to servitude and slavery.

For the idea of the right to Life, Liberty, and Property and that the State is here to protect the peoples rights and to serve them are relatively new ones. This idea of limited government only interfering in peoples lives to maintain and uphold these rights hasn't existed very long. But it was one of the great achievements in human civilisation and to simply dismiss it being an archaic 19th century concept not fit for the modern world is not only asinine but disturbing.

History is not a linear series of events. People like Marx believed it was and whatever comes next will just be superior to what came before it but that is not the case. Societies have risen and fallen throughout history. But one thing has been more prevalent is the domination of people from the few over the many. It was John Locke and others that suggested human rights need not stem from Gods, Kings, or States but they were natural born rights bestowed upon them as individuals.

Totally agree, we can learn so much by rewatching this series. The passage of time has proven Friedman's concepts to be largely correct- eg, look at how prosperous Hong Kong has become in the last 30 years. Friedman would surely despair at the state of the Western economies today.

As unions "guided by mongers" are promised more rewards for less productivity the result is escalation in consumer cost (inflation) and the competition grows wider. No where is this more predominant then in the destruction of a Socialized nation known as "The United Kingdom"! After two world wars ravaged Europe, in that environment The UK elected a government that imposed price control, market tariffs, and labor laws that destroyed capital. The solution for creation of wealth, HONG KONG!

I often see people being affected by the diatribe of celebrity. They are convinced that the necessity of life gives them rights to obtain from others, private property through taxation. This imposed theft along with the creation of a welfare system destroys the private property from which government takes from one to benefit another. All while growing the dependency state of mind into a voting block that votes to elect Officials that continue to perpetuate that indenture.

Milton's thoughts were not his own, they are by fact a basis of thought. People will always act in their own perceived best interest. When people are treated as a group, accepted as a group, they will act as a group. There are no classes in America other then those imposed and subjected to by mongers. All people can better their lot in life through exploration, endeavor, and commitment. In fact this is truly what freedom is. It is written: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Yes that is true about them not being communist, but I don't see how communism can work, because if just one person doesn't put their money in the pot if it to be redistributed it won't work. Also it requires force to stop people from voluntarily trading with one another and how can people be forced to do something without a state.

The USSR was not Communist, it was just a form of fascism. Communism is about all people controlling their own destiny and as much power over their own lives as possible. In the USSR the elites had no interest in meeting human need, they just wanted more power/resources for themselves and less for everyone else. I don't believe in government or Capitalism. They are both forms of domination.
