Senator Kerry Urges Passage of Disabilities Treaty

Why are we policing the world and telling them how to treat their people? How does this treaty have any affect any where else if it has not effect here?

...because for some odd reason we like the idea of disabled people not being discriminated against. And 150 nations agree with it, how is that telling them how to think?

Thanks to Senator Kerry for this passionate argument in favor of a treaty that should have been easily approved.

I hope that this will indeed pass in the future, once clearer heads prevail. Actions like this -- by multiple countries working in concert to protect the world's more vulnerable citizens -- are one of the few ways we have to balance the effects of war.
