    In the modern world, where a big part of the world has access to medicine and the idea of survival of the fittest does not apply anymore, evolution has, in essence, stopped. Sure, random genetic mutations still happen, but on an individual basis. Hence, we will always be pretty much the same as we are today, with the possible exception of cybernetics.

    In fact the Adam and eve story is technically true because part of our DNA has never ever changed. seriously! you could compare someone from a completely different continent and they would have the same pattern on their DNA! i can't remember what part it is though :(

    Have you considered the fact that we made technological advances that kills milions of people and that they have repleced the natural selection? Taking risks might have been an advantage in killing mammoths but taking risks while driving a car might kill you... And young males have a huge statistics of dying from car crashes before they reproduce... Increasing the chance of non-risktakers to reproduce.
