Brown Reaffirms Israel's Right to Self-Defense

Brown is Original Cosponsor of Bipartisan Senate Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is an original cosponsor of a bipartisan Senate resolution reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense. Brown released the following statement today:

“Israel must have the right and the resources to defend itself. Hamas and its terrorist allies must cease these rocket attacks immediately,” Brown said. “Terrorist attacks are not the path to peace.  From Iron Dome, to other military aid and assistance, to engaging those who seek peace—the United States stands with Israel.”

The Senate resolution, originally introduced by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), expresses vigorous support and unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and survival of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state with secure borders, and recognizes and strongly supports its right to act in self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism.
