Pro-Life

I firmly believe that life is our Creator’s most precious gift and that we must protect the sanctity of life from the moment of conception on. As a member of the House Pro-Life caucus, I am committed to standing up for the rights of the unborn.

Since being elected to Congress, I have voted consistently in favor of all pro-life legislation that has come to the House floor, including H.R. 3, The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which would prohibit taxpayer funded abortions and provide for conscience protections, and H.R. 538, The Protect Life Act, which would prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to cover any part of the costs of any health plan that includes coverage of abortion.

I have also joined forces with other pro-life Members to support pro-life policies in all appropriations bills. Together, we have reinstated the Hyde Amendment, provided funding for abstinence-only education and decreased funding to the United Nations Population Fund, which aids China’s coercive family planning programs and policies.

I have also consistently voted in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood and co-sponsored pro-life legislation introduced in the 112^th Congress, including H.R. 217, The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, which would prohibit federal family planning assistance to entities that perform abortions, and H.R. 374, The Life at Conception Act, which would implement equal protection under the 14^th Amendment for the right to life of each unborn and preborn person.

I will continue to serve as a strong and active advocate to protect life and the rights of the unborn.
