Brown Announces New Resources To Improve Water System In Pickaway County
USDA Rural Development Grant Will Help the Village of New Holland Secure New Storage Tank and Replace Existing Water Line
WASHINGTON, D.C. – New federal resources will help build and improve the water system in Pickaway County. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Village of New Holland will receive a loan and grant package from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development to secure a new 150,000 gallon water storage tank and replacement of an existing water line.
“Water infrastructure is critical to economic competiveness,” Brown said. “While all Ohioans deserve access to clean water, too many communities are struggling to afford costly, but necessary, upgrades to water systems. These new resources will help the Village of New Holland make long-overdue updates and maintain a modern, well-connected infrastructure.”
USDA Rural Development has approved a $214,000 loan and $50,000 grant for the Village of New Holland.
Brown, Chair of the Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth, and Energy Innovation, has held more than 200 roundtables throughout the state, and is the first Ohioan to serve on both the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and the Senate Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee.
