    Metrorail Travel Information

    In anticipation of large crowds, Metrorail will operate rush hour service from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Inauguration Day, Monday, January 21. Metro will have extra personnel on hand to help customers get to and from events.

    Please take note of the following important tips:

    Stations Near the National Mall

    Several downtown Metrorail stations entrances will be designated as exit-only or entry-only to safely manage crowds. Also, some escalators may be turned off to "meter" the flow of customers entering the system.

    Bicycles will not permitted on Inauguration Day.

    Tour Bus Drop Off

    Due to space restrictions, tour buses are prohibited from discharging passengers at Metrorail stations at any time. Only authorized buses will be permitted onto Metro station property. Tour bus operators are strongly encouraged to follow the drop off procedures that will be outlined on the Washington DC Inauguration website. Detailed plans on transportation routes and parking locations will be available within the next few weeks.
