The purpose of the video is to make fun of Marine veterans. At the end, this sorry excuse for an actor insults Marines by stating on how to read a watch using talk for preschoolers. The VA should issue an immediate apology to all Marines, active and veterans. I for one will never go to the VA again for anything if this is what they think of us.

The training is to remind employees that they are dealing with men and woman who have served their country and put it all on the line. It iis easy for employees to become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of applications. When you work for the government there seems to be a never ending workload and they start looking at the process and not the people they are serving.

Private industry spends a lot more money on similar films. I spent 35 years in PR/Advertising making them for companies (and the military).

Yeah, but I bet they were making a profit and not stealing from taxpayers. Or maybe they were and you didn't care because they were paying your company?

No, it is not a scandal, it is business as usual, which is scandalous, wasteful and a fraud on the taxpayer and Veterans. This is not training, it is self-congratulatory excess.

And this video provides NO training, but it sure tells VA's "HR Professionals" how great they are and what a darned good job they're doing. $56,000.00 for VA HR Positive Affirmations doesn't seem to have improved the quality of service.

This is not training, this is self-congratulation at Veterans' expense and by extension, at taxpayer expense. It costs VA $56,000 to congratulate itself? Specifically, a review of how claims were processed in the "old days" is not training. VA is congratulating itself about utilization of technology. 4,000 HR "Professionals" and it took 8 months to train them? And they still perform poorly? There is zero training on this video.
