On Monday July 23, 2012, U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) was joined by County Executive Ike Leggett, Congressman Chris Van Hollen and local officials to mark the completion of several transportation projects funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The selected roads were designated as high priority projects by the County's Department of Transportation (MCDOT) because of their deteriorated condition. Overall, the County received nearly $168 million in ARRA funding for a variety of projects that have helped businesses get people back to work.
