This amendment to an appropriations bill fully funds the Emergency Federal Law This This amendment fully funds the Enforcement Assistance Program in the amount of $20 million. This program was designed to help local governments respond to extraordinary law enforcement emergencies after they have exhausted their own budgets. For example cases like the Somer Thompson kidnapping can wipe out local law enforcement funds. This budget-neutral amendment passed by voice vote.
