Job Summary:

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 600 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

The incumbent serves as a Teacher Aide or Teacher Assistant and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of child care services in the assigned classroom. The incumbent will provide input on curricular planning and its implementation, and assist in the collection of child development documentation. The incumbent must appropriately assist in ensuring quality and continuity of care in the classroom at all times. The incumbent must also develop and maintain general working knowledge of all aspects of the House Child Care Center and a general understanding of the Office of the CAO at-large, as well as applicable legal requirements and House Rules.

Consideration for placement in Teacher Aide or Teacher Assistant position(s) will be based on level of relevant education and experience related to day-to-day delivery of child care services. 

Qualifications:

Experience in an Early Childhood setting with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Specialized training and/or certification in a discipline related to the position or an equivalent level of professional work experience preferred.
Candidate must have their CDA or equivalent.
CPR and Pediatric First Aid training preferred.
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Knowledge of Creative Curriculum a plus.
Performs other duties as assigned.
