Job Summary:

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000+ House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 600 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

The CAO, House Information Resources (HIR) is seeking a Director for Enterprise Operations. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of operational principles as well as configuration management/change management practices. As a member of the leadership team this position requires the incumbent to provide on-call escalation support. The incumbent shares responsibilities with other HIR groups for directing comprehensive, enterprise wide systems engineering programs to modernize and maintain information systems for the House of Representatives. Strong oral and written communication skills and the capability to handle multiple tasks are a must. Must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate.The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. *Salary commensurate with experience.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to, development, maintenance and enforcement of operational and functional policies/procedures that govern the server infrastructure. Candidates are required to work a diverse schedule and participate as an escalation point in 24x7 support at all data center locations. Incumbent must have a high degree of professional expertise, technology, and business experience. Manage the budgeting and purchase of hardware and software licensing. Administer procurements, including the development and issuance of RFIs and RFPs, conducting bidder sessions, evaluations and recommendations for purchase. Serve as the House of Representative's Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for multiple contracts. Performs other official duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 8 years experience with operations management and administration in a large enterprise.

Master’s degree in Computer Science/ related discipline or equivalent senior level technical experience.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Demonstrated experience with the design, development and deployment of complex/nationwide computer systems.

Extensive knowledge and experience with complex systems engineering, design, development, implementation and support.

ITIL or MOF certification desired.
