Dec10 Darrell Issa: FANNIE AND FREDDIE - STOPPING MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR, TAXPAYER-BACKED COMPENSATION FOR EXECUTIVES AT GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED HOUSING GIANTS: Did you know that during 2009-2010, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lost $121.6 billion and took $94 billion from US taxpayers, who paid the top six executives at the government-owned mortgage giants more than $35 million?
As the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Darrell has led efforts in holding these two agencies accountable for their irresponsible spending and lavish compensation packages.
Today, the Federal Housing Finance Agency - who acts as the supervisor and regulator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - Office of Inspector General released a report finding that their compensation system needs additional improvement.
FROM DARRELL: “Although today’s news shows some meaningful improvements in executive compensation at this taxpayer funded entity, it is clear additional work remains.” Click here to learn more about Darrell’s response to the report and efforts by the Oversight and Government Reform Committee to reign in this out-of-control, taxpayer funded spending: 1.usa.gov/12hhNmD

One image taken before and after Hurricane Sandy allows the human eye to see just how expansive and serious the electricity blackout was for those in New Jersey and New York. For a before and after comparison, click here: 1.usa.gov/Te16Di
This new satellite will provide scientists and others with a new way to explain and study our planet's natural disasters, celestial wonders and patterns of human interaction.
How do you think this new satellite and the images it takes will lead to new discoveries in the scientific field?
