Barrow to Host Constituent Transition Meeting in Augusta PDF Print

December 12, 2012

WASHINGTON – On Saturday, December 15, 2012, U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) will host a "Constituent Transition Meeting" in Augusta. For the first time, starting next January, Congressman Barrow will represent all of Richmond County and most of Columbia County. The purpose of this event is to help ensure a smooth transition for casework pending with Congressman Paul Broun's (GA-10) office as Congressman Barrow begins representing the area. Congressman Broun and members of his staff have been invited to the event.

"A smooth transition from one Congressional office to another is very important to folks who are looking to their elected officials for help," said Congressman Barrow. "I want to make this move for folks in Columbia and Richmond Counties as easy as possible, so that we can provide them the same, first-class constituent services my office is known for. I encourage folks to stop by our office to meet our staff, and get acquainted with the services we provide to the entire 12th District."

Congressman Barrow's staff has worked very hard to ensure that constituents across the 12th District do not have to travel far to get help from the federal government. In all 22 counties of the district, Congressman Barrow's staff holds regular office hours in addition to numerous special events for constituents. In 2011, Congressman Barrow's staff obtained over $3.7 million to district residents in benefits or payments that had been wrongfully withheld or delayed, and this year obtained over $2.1 million in relief for his constituents, by providing first-class constituent services.
