Medicare Open Enrollment Reminder

Each year, individuals who are enrolled in the Medicare program have an opportunity to review their Medicare coverage plan and decide if they need to make any changes to their coverage. The open enrollment period for this year ends on Friday, December 7th.

Now is the time for seniors to join, drop or switch their Medicare health or drug coverage. Some of the changes that can be made include:

  • Enroll in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
  • Change to a different Medicare Prescription Drug Plan that better meets your family’s needs
  • Enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan or change to a different Medicare Advantage plan

Choosing the right coverage can be a challenging task, but seniors do not have to face it on their own. Medicare provides assistance to help each Medicare beneficiary choose the best plan for their unique situation. Medicare offers free counseling and information regarding benefits and plan options.

To learn more, call Medicare toll-free at: 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or use the Medicare Plan Finder at https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/questions/home.aspx to look at all of the health and drug plan options in our area.

If you are enrolled in Medicare, take a few minutes to review your current enrollment and decide if you need to make a change to your coverage. If you are not a Medicare beneficiary but you have family or friends who are, please remind them the open enrollment period ends on December 7th.

As always, if you have questions or need further information, please call one of my offices.
