NEUGEBAUER STATEMENT ON NOMINATION OF GOV. SCHAFER

WASHINGTON, DC – Following President Bush’s announcement of former North Dakota Governor, Ed Schafer’s nomination to be the next Secretary of Agriculture, Congressman Randy Neugebauer (TX-19) released the following statement:

“I would like to congratulate Governor Schafer on his recent nomination by the President. Ed has a long and distinguished resume and I believe he will aptly serve the role of the Secretary of Agriculture.

“While Congress is entering the later stages of work on the 2007 Farm Bill, I look forward to working with him to finalize a Farm Bill that continues to promote and protect American agriculture.”
