Neugebauer Remembers America's Fallen on Sixth Anniversary of 9/11

WASHINGTON, DC – On the sixth anniversary of September 11th, 2001, the day our nation was brutally attacked by al-Qaeda terrorists, Congressman Randy Neugebauer released the following statement:

“Today we remember those who lost their lives on that fateful day in September of 2001. Six years after the attacks, the images of the falling buildings still haunt the minds of Americans. I, along with my fellow Americans, will never forget the loss of so many innocent civilians and brave heroes whose lives were taken without reason or provocation.

“We must never forget the day when the might of America was awakened to defend our homeland, and honor those fallen and the heroes that sacrificed their lives so others may live. America will always hold dear those sacrifices of the passengers of Flight 93 who laid down their lives in defense of others, as well as the brave first responders in New York and Virginia who rushed into burning buildings to save friends and strangers alike.

“On this day, let us recommit our resolve and vigilance to root out terror, protect our fellow Americans and defend the inalienable rights of freedom and democracy that this nation was built upon. As Ronald Reagan said of America’s spirit, ‘Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have.’

“America must continue to confront radical terrorism and defeat its enemies. This is a task we will relentlessly pursue to protect future generations and honor all those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.”
