    Today, 43 of my colleagues joined me in sending a letter to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force expressing our support for the task force's draft recommendation to expand HIV screening. The task force recommends that everyone ages 15 to 65 should be screened for HIV infection regardless of their risk for contracting the virus. Click the link to read the letter in full.

    A new report released this week shows that a typical middle class family would see their taxes rise by $2,200, if House Republicans refuse to allow a vote. The middle class tax cut will ensure that taxes do not go up in 2013 on those making less than $250,000 a year, including 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses. I am committed to reaching a balanced agreement that puts people to work and strengthens the middle class, while asking the wealthy to pay their fair share.
