71 years ago today, on December 7, 1941, the Japanese Empire launched a surprise attack on U.S. Naval and Army Air Force installations at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
More than 2,400 Americans were killed and many more were wounded.
That "Day of Infamy" marked the United States' entry into World War II. From 1941 - 1945, more than 16 million Americans served in uniform.
Almost 400,000 were killed in action.
We give thanks for the courage of the greatest generation who defeated fascism and saved the world.
We salute them for their brave service and many sacrifices.
Freedom is not free.
We will always remember Pearl Harbor.
