Washington, DC--Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) issued the following statement in response to the National Football League’s granting of the 2014 Super Bowl to the new stadium for the Jets and Giants, which opens later this year.

“It makes perfect sense to me that the greatest city in the world, and the center of American culture, would get the biggest sports event in the country. I know New York and New Jersey will be more than ready to invite the world into the region, and make this Super Bowl the best one in memory. I can only hope that the game will feature the Jets and Giants playing each other for the championship.”
