REP. ENGEL INFORMED OF EVENTUAL RE-OPENING OF THE WEST NYACK POST OFFICE

Washington, DC -- Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) contacted the United States Postal Service (USPS) to urge them to re-open the West Nyack Post Office as soon as possible.  The facility has been closed due to flood damage from Hurricane Irene.   Due to rumors of its eventual permanent closing, Rep. Engel reached out to USPS officials to find out when the West Nyack Post Office would re-open.

“The services provided to the people of West Nyack, and surrounding areas of Clarkstown, are a vital part of the everyday life of its residents.  I was pleased to be advised by the Postal Service of their intention to re-open the West Nyack Post Office as soon as repairs are completed.  This is good news for the West Nyack community.  I will continue to monitor the situation and work with USPS officials to have the post office open as soon as possible.  In the meantime, residents may use the Nanuet or Bardonia Post Office, or any others in the surrounding area.”
