Washington, DC -- Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) met with New Yorkers attending the National Association of Community Health Centers convention in Washington DC.  Rep. Engel, a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Health, discussed his strong support for Community Health Centers. 

Rep. Engel said, “Community Health Centers are vitally important to local communities and I believe that they will play a key role as more Americans gain access to health care coverage as part of the Affordable Care Act.  I submitted a request to the Appropriations Committee in support of Community Health Center funding of $3.1 billion for these important facilities.”
