STEARNS TO TOUR KINDRED HOSPITAL NORTH FLORIDA, MEET WITH STAFF AND PATIENTS

GREEN COVE SPRINGS FACILITY PROVIDES CARE TO LONG-TERM, CATASTROPHICALLY ILL PATIENTS

Washington, Jul 7, 2010 -

On Friday, July 9, 2010, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth) will visit Kindred Hospital North Florida in Green Cove Springs, where he will tour the 80-bed acute care facility and meet with staff and patients.  Kindred provides services to long-term, catastrophically ill patients.  “They come to us because they require the kind of care and prolonged recovery time that conventional short-term acute care hospitals may not be equipped to provide” said Kindred North Florida CEO Hoyt Ross.

As a regional referral center, the hospital specializes in managing medically complex, resource-intensive patients who require extended lengths of stay. “I am interested in seeing the innovative methods they utilize to provide care to those who are seriously ill with multiple medical problems” commented Stearns.

Kindred North Florida is part of Kindred Healthcare, Inc., which just last December was named by Fortunemagazine as the Most Admired company in the category of “Health Care: Medical Facilities.”

The tour of the facility will occur at 2:30 PM.
