Washington, Feb 7, 2008 - "In addition to being a great place to live, Ocala also is a great place to do business, and the designation of the Lockheed Martin Facility in Ocala as a 2007 Best Plant underscores this point," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala). "Industry Week recognized Lockheed Martin in Ocala for its emphasis on employee education, and I look forward to visiting with the employees and congratulating them on this recognition. These are the high-tech jobs Ocala needs to continue to grow economically in the 21st century."

Industry Week named Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control at Ocala as among the 2007 Best Plants. The plant manufactures electronic assemblies for commercial, defense, and space applications. In addition, the Ocala facility with nearly 500 employees performs assembly and testing for various missiles and fire control programs.

In addition to touring the facility, Stearns will make brief remarks congratulating the managers and employees. This event will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 11, 2008, at the Lockheed Martin facility, 498 Oak Road, Ocala, FL.
