PRAISES LEADERSHIP AND SCHOLASTIC QUALITIES OF THE NOMINEES

“One of my major responsibilities is nominating these outstanding young men and women to the nation’s service academies,” stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth).  “So many excellent candidates apply for these very limited openings and those who are finally are accepted represent the nation’s best.  I wish these nominees every success in securing a position and these prestigious academies.”

Nominations to the Service Academies are extremely competitive. After receiving a nomination to a specific Academy, applicants will then be required to pass further examinations and screening to be offered an appointment.

Competitive alternates could gain acceptance at the specified Academy subject to further screening by the Academy, and for that reason these alternative nominees should be proud of their selection as a competitive alternate.
