STEARNS SPONSORING SERVICE ACADEMY NIGHT – LEARN ABOUT ATTENDING ONE OF THE FIVE SERVICE ACADEMIES

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND, 7:00 PM AT WESTPORT HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM IN OCALA

Washington, Nov 16, 2010 -

Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth) is sponsoring a Service Academy night for students and parents interested in learning more about attending one of the five Service Academies – U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

“The application process for a Service Academy is up to 18 months so it is best to start early,” explained Stearns.  “Those receiving an appointment will receive the equivalent of a $400,000 scholarship and will benefit from one of the best educations available.”  Academy liaison officers will attend the event along with Cadets and Midshipmen currently attending West Point and Annapolis.  In addition, Stearns will have staff there to answer any questions.  The event will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 22nd at the Westport High School auditorium, 3700 Southwest 80th Avenue in Ocala.
