STEARNS RECEIVES THE "AWARD FOR MANUFACTURING LEGISLATIVE EXCELLENCE" FROM THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MANUFACTURERS

HONORED FOR HIS STRONG RECORD OF PROMOTING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND JOB CREATION

Washington, Oct 17, 2008 - Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth) has received the “Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence” presented by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). Daniel Steen, NAM’s Vice-President for Government Affairs, stated, “Your voting record in the 110th Congress has earned you the NAM Award.” The Award is presented “to legislators who consistently support our pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda.”

“Our nation faces a time of economic uncertainty that demands pursuing policies to restore economic growth and to create jobs,” said Stearns. “I share the goals of NAM in advancing the efforts to maintain U.S. leadership in the global economy, and I am honored to receive this award.”

The mission of NAM is to advocate on behalf of its members to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturers by shaping a legislative and regulatory environment conducive to U.S. economic growth and to increase understanding among policymakers, the media and the general public about the vital role of manufacturing in America’s economic and national security for today and in the future.
