STEARNS RECEIVES "MEDICARE CHOICES LEADERSHIP" AWARD FOR OPPOSING MEDICARE CUTS

Washington, Nov 5, 2007 - The Coalition for Medicare Choices has presented the Medicare Choices Leadership Award to Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala). Stated Michael Hernandez of the Coalition for Medicare Choices, "Thank you for voting to protect Medicare choices for Florida's seniors. Congress debated a proposal to cut funding for Medicare Advantage, ands we are thankful that you helped prevent almost three million seniors nationwide from losing coverage."

"I am committed to ensuring that seniors have access to the best possible health care, and I want to protect the choice made by some eight million senior who are enrolled in Medicare Advantage," said Stearns. "I am honored to receive this award and I look forward to working with this group in strengthening Medicare." The Coalition for Medicare Choices is a grassroots group representing over 400,000 seniors from all 50 states.
