HONOR (HOPE, OPPORTUNITIES, NETWORKING, OUTREACH, AND RECOVERY) CENTER WILL HOUSE UP TO 45 HOMELESS VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES OR OTHER HEALTH NEEDS

Washington, Mar 4, 2010 -

“One of the major tragedies in our nation is homelessness among our veterans,” stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth).   “There are over 130,000 homeless veterans, and we have a duty to provide shelter and care, especially to those who are disabled and with special medical needs.  The opening of the HONOR Center in Gainesville represents a major step forward in serving these veterans.”

Stearns, the Vice Republican Leader of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, will join in the opening of the HONOR (Hope, Opportunities, Networking, Outreach and Recovery) Center in Gainesville on March 8th at 1:00 PM, 1604 SE 3rd Avenue.  The HONOR Center will be capable of housing 45 veterans while providing special services to those who are disabled, recovering from surgery, or with special medical needs.
