STEARNS JOINING IN HONORING CLAY COUNTY STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

PARTICIPATING IN CLAY COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE’S CHAMBER FOUNDATION AWARD ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20TH

Washington, Apr 18  – “The future of our nation depends on educating our young people by preparing them to participate in the workplace and to make them good citizens,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth).  “We should recognize the high achievements of successful students as well as the teachers who dedicate themselves to educational excellence.  I commend the Clay County Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to education through the Chamber Foundation and I look forward to participating in the awards luncheon.”

The Clay County Chamber Foundation Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  Three $1,000 scholarships and four $500 scholarships will be awarded.  In addition, one teacher and one student from each high school will receive a spotlight on education award.  The luncheon will be held at Carmike Cinemas Fleming Island 12, 1820 Town Center Blvd., Fleming Island, FL.
